Community Value Statement FY2024 showcases our Impact in the Yarra Valley Community

This is the 33rd Year that Linc Yarra Valley has been assisting the community through our member churches and volunteers. We are a registered Not for Profit organisation and a network of local church and community volunteers who help people in practical ways. LinC Yarra Valley works with local churches, council and service organisations.

Community Value Statement FY2024 showcases our Impact in the Upper Yarra Valley Community

Here are the highlights from our Community Value Statement FY2024. We run two main programs that assist the local community in the upper Yarra Valley region, including our Fresh Start program and a Fresh Food program. This is also supplemented with a Foodbank program. It is through these programs that we add over $2M of value to the Yarra Valley community.

LinC Yarra Valley Overview

  • LinC in 2024 delivered over $2.4M into the Yarra Valley community.
  • Wages are now less than 3% of the total value to the community.
  • Wages and overheads combined make up less than 3.5% of the grants and donations.
  • 96.5% of grants and donations went directly to assist the clients and community.

Fresh Start Program

  • Fresh Start is the front door for clients to access LinC Services.
  • Fresh start delivered over $59k of services to the Yarra Valley Community in FY 2024.
  • Reports all activity to DSS via the DEX database.
  • Phones are operational Monday to Thursday 10am to 1pm. When staff are available. Answering service available at all times.
  • In FY25 plans to open the LinC office on Fridays.

Fresh Food Program

  • Fresh Food operates 5 sites each Friday.
  • Fresh Food delivered over $1.62m of Fresh Food to the Yarra Valley Community in FY 2024.
  • With volunteer labour, pickups included Fresh Food delivered over $2.1m of Fresh Food to the Yarra Valley Community in FY 2024.
  • Each week about 300 people visit the program or have a hamper delivered.
  • An additional 3.7 people benefit for each person that receives food.  That is over 1350 people benefit each week.

Foodbank Site

  • The Food bank site operates every 2nd Friday from the All Saints Anglican Church in Yarra Junction.
  • Fresh Food delivered over $1.62M of Fresh Food to the Yarra Valley Community in FY 2024.
  • With volunteer labour, pickups included Fresh Food delivered over $2.1M of Fresh Food to the Yarra Valley Community in FY 2024.
  • Each week about 300 people visit the program or have a hamper delivered.
